Eneko Sora, is a private detective in Liverpool whose experiences as a journalist and his Basque heritage significantly influence his present actions. He is recovering from being stabbed and beaten in a previous case. This experience has left him with physical and emotional scars, leading him to seek rest and recuperation in Spain. Back in Liverpool, Eneko returns to his detective work. He and his business partner, George, investigate a blackmail case involving a barrister, her secretary, and a woman named Stacey Michel. This case intersects with a wage robbery and leads them to uncover a criminal network involved in prostitution, drug trafficking, and pornography, exploiting vulnerable young girls, many of whom are orphans.
