About the author

I was born in Liverpool, which back then was a thriving port city with ships from all four corners of the world bringing goods to the port. I grew up in this environment, enjoying seeing the great ocean-going liners, the oil tankers, freighters, ferry boats, everything that encompassed a vibrant port. The Overhead Railway served the 7 miles of docks, bringing the dockers to the docks, and its trams, which brought passengers from the suburbs to the city centre.

I’ve always played sports throughout my life in many countries. I’ve worked as a journalist, copywriter, teacher, and squash coach. But my fascination with detective stories was ever present, so this series of 8 books is my take on a cosmopolitan detective set in the 1950s in Liverpool.
